Our story

Trinkety Paws was born from a frustration every dog owner knows. Collars that cracked after a few walks. Leads that smelled after one wet field. Accessories that looked fine in the shop but fell apart in real life.

Founder Nadine Berger - originally from Germany, settled in Northamptonshire since 2009 - spotted a gap in the market while looking for something better for her own dogs, Ozzie (a Weimaraner and Labrador cross) and Cooper (a German Shorthaired Pointer). She wanted accessories that were practical enough for muddy adventures and stylish enough to reflect her dogs’ personalities.

During her research, Nadine discovered BioThane®: a waterproof, easy-to-clean, vegan-friendly coated webbing available in a whole rainbow of colours - the same tough material trusted in professional horse tack and in the military and medical sector for decades. She started experimenting at home. Friends and family noticed, asked for sets of their own, and gave her the confidence to start selling on Etsy.

That was in 2019. What started as a creative hobby quickly grew, particularly during lockdown, when more people were home, online, and looking to spoil their pets. Nadine went full-time with Trinkety Paws in 2020, moved out of the dining room and into a proper workshop, and hasn’t looked back.

Today, Trinkety Paws is an award-winning British brand with a team of eight, a dedicated Northamptonshire workshop, retail partners in over 30 countries, and listings with national UK chains including Just for Pets and Pets & Friends.

The 2024 PIF award was for our BioThane® Handsfree Training Lead - one of our most innovative and popular designs, which allows hands-free walking while keeping full control.

Why BioThane®?

Most dog collars are made from nylon or cheap leather. Nylon absorbs water, develops a permanent smell, and frays at the edges. Leather cracks in the rain. Neither is a great match for the British weather.

We use genuine BioThane®: a smooth, vegan, odour-free coated webbing that is waterproof, flexible, and strong enough to handle the most adventurous dogs. It’s the same material trusted in professional horse tack - and now we’ve brought that same quality to dog accessories.

There’s a meaningful difference between genuine BioThane® and the imitation webbing sold by many overseas brands. We only ever use the real thing.

Handmade in Northamptonshire

Every collar, lead, harness and accessory is designed and made by our team at our workshop in Northamptonshire. We’re not a warehouse. We’re not a dropshipper. We’re a team of eight people - including Nadine and of course Ozzie and Cooper, our ever-present quality inspectors - who genuinely care about every product that leaves the door.

When you order from Trinkety Paws, a real person cuts, builds and checks your order before it’s packed and sent. That’s been true since our first sale, and it’s still true today.

All of our packaging is eco-conscious, made from recycled or recyclable materials, because how we send things matters as much as what we send.

Made for every dog - and every owner

We design for every size and breed, from tiny toy breeds to giant breeds, with over 50 collar and lead designs across our range. Whether your dog loves rugged countryside trails or polished city strolls, there’s something here for them.

We’re also proud to work closely with SEND customers and wheelchair users to create custom solutions that meet individual needs. Inclusive design isn’t an afterthought for us, it’s part of what we build.

Beyond dogs: Trinkety Equine

In 2025, we expanded into the equestrian world with the launch of Trinkety Equine - a dedicated brand bringing the same BioThane® quality to horse tack.

The equestrian range includes headcollars, lunge lines and lead ropes, all made in the UK. The expansion was a natural step: BioThane® has always been trusted in equestrian use, and our manufacturing expertise made the move a logical one.
